At ProMusica Foundation, our mission is to enrich lives through the power of Music and the beauty of the Arts.
ProMusica Foundation aims to make its contribution by focusing its activities primarily in areas where larger organizations typically do not operate. It chooses unconventional spaces as its preferred venues for its initiatives, striving to contribute to the cultural, educational, and outreach fields through its various programs.
The members of our board have extensive experience leading projects at both the national and international levels.

[ Nancy Hughes ]
Nancy Sanford Hughes is the founder of the non-profit StoveTeam International. For her work in Latin America, Hughes has been honored as a United States White House Champion of Change, and a CNN Hero. The charity is a non-profit organization that works to bring improved cook stoves to people in Latin America through its use of public donations, which have directly funded the development of stove-building factories, owned and operated by local entrepreneurs.

[ Rodrigo Gonzalez Jacob ]
Rodrigo founded the Camerata of IUNA (formerly the National Conservatory of Music) and the Academic Orchestra of UNA (National University of the Arts) in Argentina. He has taught at the National University of the Arts, the National University of Río Negro, Chaco Austral University, and the University of Oregon. He has also contributed to numerous musical projects with significant social and cultural impact. Additionally, he maintains a strong presence in the professional classical music scene across Latin America, and the United States. Having collaborated with ensembles such as Orchestra Next, Anchorage Symphony, Eugene Ballet, Eugene Symphony, Oregon Mozart Players, Eugene Opera, and the University of Oregon Orchestra.
[ Richard Mates ]
Richard Mates has been a textbook publisher, owner of a telecommunications company, mathematical model builder and, most recently president of a non-profit homeowners association and mutual benefit drinking water distribution company. He was the primary point person to successfully fund and re-build the failing water distribution system. Funding was provided via grants and loans solicited from the U.S.D.A. and the local water district. The non-profit homeowners association and mutual benefit water distribution company ended up paying nothing for a new gravity fed system expected to last 150 years.
[ Jooyong Ahn ]
Maestro Jooyong Ahn, born in Seoul, South Korea, is now based in the United States.
Maestro Ahn has led internationally renowned orchestras in prestigious venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York and the Academy Hall in Philadelphia.
In Argentina, he has contributed significantly to the training of over 300 youth symphony orchestra conductors.
He has also served as a judge for international conducting competitions in the U.S., Eastern Europe, and South America, and has taught conducting masterclasses at the National Conservatory of Riga, the National Conservatory of Buenos Aires, and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in China.
[ Gary Brown ]
Honorable Gary R Brown is a retired civilian judge, retired military judge advocate, and retired attorney. As part of his community service Judge Brown created and served on many church and civic nonprofit foundations, currently serving as a trustee on the Southtowne Rotary Club Foundation. He plays percussion as a hobby in community organizations and loves the many musical opportunities as a patron in Eugene, Oregon where he now lives after 45 years in Colorado
[ Martin Garcia Leon ]
Martín García León is an orchestra conductor and university professor who has played a key role in creating new artistic spaces in regions distant from major urban centers. He earned regional acclaim for his project "Los Abuelos Cantores de la Patagonia" (The Singing Grandparents of Patagonia) and gained international recognition as the first Argentine conductor to collaborate artistically with the Ho Guom Theater in Hanoi, Vietnam.
